RELIGION OF PEACE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH INFO FOR AFRICA
The following learners, Mary Habe (10 F), Minenhle Sasibo (10 F), Aisha Mulla (10 C) and Khanyisani Ndlangisa (10 C) attended a workshop hosted by Religion of Peace in partnership with Info for Africa. The theme was “To strengthen the capacity of young people and children to engage in dialogue”.
It involved group discussions on how to address children’s rights in our country and community, how to solve social issues using strength, unity and respect in the community. We also got to learn about the principles of other religions. This programme was very empowering and educational. We made a number of friends.
A big thank you to Religion of Peace for allowing the learners of Sastri College to be part of this invaluable experience.
On the 15 October 2019, the following learners, Kushal Maharaj (10A), Samkelisiwe Matwasa (10D) and Samelisiwe Bengu (10B) attended a workshop hosted by Religion of Peace in partnership with Info for Africa. The theme was “Ethical principles and Core value for Ethics Education”.
The programme encourages the youth to focus on different types of people with different beliefs and cultures around them and to work together in harmony. They discussed climate change and the major impact it has on earth.
The message encouraged the youth to never underestimate their abilities and skills, when challenges appear they must always remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. They must improve on their self-image, their actions and words on a daily basis.
